I am looking to speak with leaders who have experience of managing technical operations in complex manufacturing plants. Due to internal promotion, my client is looking to bring someone into the management team who can oversee various areas within their plant in terms of leadership, compliance, improvements, projects and budgetary management. 

This role will have a variety of skills reporting into it with different shift patterns and varying degrees of complexities so it would suit someone who comes from an engineering background who has moved into operations. The opportunities to drive improvements are excellent and you will have a good experienced team in place, this role will be helping take them to the next level. The area is being heavily invested in and will continue to grow in size so there will be great opportunity to develop the team as it continues to grow. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure all operational activities are carried out in line with relevant site and regulatory health and safety regulations.
  • Develop a positive safety culture where coordinators and team members proactively action non-conforming processes or actions through safety observations, local function safety forums and site safety forums.
  • Ensure the completion of all compliance documentation associated with each function and associated regulatory bodies
  • Deliver year on year budgeted requirements for new make and mature spirit dispatches to internal and external customers.
  • Ensure dispatches are completed On Time In Full to order requirements with emphasis on spirit quality adherence throughout dispatch.
  • Be able to adapt to a changing operational environment and implement effective recovery plans.
  • Identify and deliver operational improvements and where necessary construct business cases for Capital Investment and subsequently support project delivery.
  • Manage and develop reporting lines with Area Leader to enable clear communication to site leadership.
  • Engage with local team to identify challenges and create opportunities to develop working area and environment.
  • Proactively engage with internal support functions to create fully aligned ways of working throughout the supply chain.
  • Create opportunities for personal and professional development of progressive team members.
  • Ensure close control of policy to underperforming team members and appropriately manage.
  • Ensure year on year budget forecasts are developed as accurately as possible with close adherence to actual spend
