Software Developer - Backend

Location: South Ayrshire / Hybrid (1-2 days remote work)
Salary: £50k–£55k

About the Role

This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative Development team. Reporting to the Development Manager, you will play a key role in building and maintaining applications and APIs to support browser-based products in the online dating industry. The role is suited for someone who is passionate about technology, problem-solving, and working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize tools and frameworks such as:
    • MS C# .NET, Entity Framework
    • MS SQL (VM/Azure SQL/Azure SQL Pools)
    • Microsoft Azure Cloud Services
    • Azure DevOps and Git
  • Work with Docker containers and Kubernetes.
  • Integrate third-party APIs using JSON/XML.
  • Tackle challenges proactively and independently with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Build effective relationships with team members across different locations.
  • Manage multiple workstreams to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and design innovations to influence platform strategies.

Skills & Experience

  • 4–5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in composition and typography.
  • A creative, motivated, and proactive team player with the ability to adapt quickly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in presenting ideas.
  • Effective at relationship-building, especially in geographically dispersed teams.
