Senior PHP Developer 

Glasgow (Hybrid 2 days in the office) 

Nine Twenty technology are partnering with their long term Glasgow based client who are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join their team. As a key member of the development team, you'll work closely with our CTO to support various business needs and build applications that meet their clients' requirements. You'll be responsible for analysing user requirements, transforming them into production-ready applications, and ensuring high-quality code.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback on production work
  • Automate tasks using various tools and scripting languages
  • Create technical specifications through workshops and other collaboration methods
  • Write operational documentation and maintain existing software
  • Expand existing software to meet changing client needs
  • Develop new applications by analysing and identifying areas for modification
  • Focus on creating fault-tolerant programming and scalable solutions

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of application development experience in PHP 
  • Possess strong JavaScript and JavaScript framework development experience
  • Familiarity with AWS and the suite of services it provides;
  • Strong knowledge of version control systems and comfortable working with branching strategies
  • Familiarity with security concerns and ability to identify potential security risks through code review
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills and ability to resolve most technical problems independently
  • Experience with testing methodologies, monitoring tools, and technical support

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Tailwind CSS and AlpineJS;
  • Familiarity with Filament PHP and it’s community of plugins;
  • Knowledge of OpenAI, ChatGPT and LLM concepts.
