We are on the search to hire a Senior Network Engineer to join our growing Network Services department. The successful candidate will be leading on all aspects of network engineering, low level design, security, management, and operations. DataVita is looking for an enthusiastic person, keen to learn new technologies, apply common sense and creativity to problem solving and eager to be involved in many different tasks.
Responsibilities
- Be a technical lead for network project and internal systems implementations.
- Work alongside DataVita Architects on high and low level network designs for customers and internal systems.
- Implement network solutions from agreed low-level designs.
- Implement, improve and support data centre networks, SD-WAN networks, enterprise LANs and enterprise wireless networks.
- Provide an automation first focus with knowledge of NetOps tools and software (Python, Ansible, Git etc).
- Continuously develop and improve network monitoring of customer and internal systems.
- Deep and broad technical background and knowledge of industry trends to operate our business-critical infrastructure.
- Working closely alongside customers, acting as a consultant for any network related matters.
- Consult with team members, internal stakeholders, vendors and customers.
- Incident Management: Resolve technical and business incidents independently or as part of a team. Be a point of escalation for DataVita’s Service Desk when required.
- Change Management: Create and present technical changes for customer and internal networks.
- Mentor/Assist lesser experienced members of the team, providing training and development towards Senior Network engineer level.
- Pro-actively look for solutions to prevent the most complex problems from occurring across teams/technologies
- Provide feedback/influence change in internal and/or vendor- provided products/service offerings.
- Trusted technical advisor and SME internally and to our customers.
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience of implementing and supporting network solutions.
- CCNP and/or Fortinet NSE certification.
- A strong understanding of networking. L2 switching, L3 routing, network monitoring, firewalls, physical cabling, spanning tree, IPv4, dynamic routing, DNS, DHCP.
- Strong understanding of the physical layer, cable specifications and cabling infrastructure (data centre, building and campus).
- Ability to conduct network troubleshooting, problem solving and logical reasoning in order to resolve network related issues.
- Strong knowledge on analyzing network traffic ( e.g. using packet capture, enterprise network monitoring solutions)
- Comfortable with learning new technologies quickly on the job with the help of senior engineers.
- Willing to study and gain additional vendor certifications.
- The ability to deal with a fast-moving environment, dealing with multiple projects and faults simultaneously.
- The nature of the job will require evening and nighttime work when making major changes on our network.
- Strong ACI experience would be a benefit for the role.
