Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are supporting our Global client in their need for a  Performance Improvement Leader, you will collaborate closely with operations and functional teams, driving critical initiatives that enhance business performance and deliver key operational improvements. You’ll serve as a performance partner to the operations manager, ensuring that improvements are sustainable and embedded within operational teams. This role is key in driving cost efficiency, reducing losses, and ensuring continuous improvement in alignment with business goals. The role will include on-call duties once every three weeks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cultural change initiatives, focusing on "Zero Stops & Zero Waste" principles.
  • Facilitate and lead problem-solving efforts for plant and process issues.
  • Partner with shift managers to drive joint accountability for performance, focusing on KPIs such as OEE losses, material quality, and changeover times.
  • Utilise tools and methodologies like Loss & Waste analysis, RCPS, and DMAIC to solve problems and drive improvements.
  • Coach teams on troubleshooting tools and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide performance data and drive continuous improvement into weekly planning meetings, ensuring maintenance aligns with identified losses.
  • Lead strategic improvement projects using DMAIC methodology and tools such as 5Why, Green Belt, and Yellow Belt.
  • Manage the loss and waste agenda by providing performance insights and prioritising improvements.
  • Support capital expenditure projects and liaise with contractors to implement asset and process improvements.
  • Oversee contractor management on-site, ensuring compliance and performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Proven experience working in a process environment, developing relationships across functional teams to deliver improved business performance.
  • Knowledge and experience using manufacturing excellence tools and techniques such as 5S, lean six sigma, reliability-centered maintenance, and Fastrack DMAIC.
  • NEBOSH qualification and Brewing & Distilling certifications are advantageous (or willingness to work towards these).
  • Full clean driving license is essential for this role.
