Managing Director - Scotland

My client, a leading SaaS business, is seeking an accomplished and visionary Managing Director to lead the company into its next phase of growth.

As the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational excellence, and financial performance of the company. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure the company’s goals are met and that they continue to innovate and lead in the software industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing high-growth SaaS companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company’s strategic vision, aligning it with market opportunities and industry trends. Lead the company’s overall direction, ensuring sustainable growth and long-term success.
  • Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring that all departments are functioning effectively and in alignment with the company’s objectives. Implement processes and systems that enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage the company’s financial health, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Ensure profitability and maintain healthy cash flow while making strategic investments in growth opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire the leadership team and wider organization. Foster a high-performance culture where innovation and accountability are encouraged. Ensure the team is equipped with the resources and support needed to succeed.
  • Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying and pursuing new market opportunities. Expand the company’s presence globally by forming strategic partnerships and entering new markets.
  • Client and Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders. Act as the primary spokesperson, representing the company in public forums and industry events.
  • Product and Innovation: Collaborate closely with the Product Development team to ensure that our offerings continue to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Champion innovation and keep the company at the forefront of technology.
  • Governance and Compliance: Ensure that the company adheres to all regulatory requirements and operates with the highest standards of corporate governance. Implement policies and practices that promote ethical behaviour and compliance across the organisation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in senior leadership roles, with a strong background in SaaS or software-driven businesses. 
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in scaling companies, driving growth, and achieving financial targets. Experience in managing global operations and expanding into new markets.
  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across multiple functions. Proven experience in building and leading high-performance leadership teams.
  • Strategic Vision: Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate market trends and navigate complex business challenges.
  • Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of financial management, including P&L responsibility, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating the company’s vision to internal and external stakeholders.
