Are you a time served maintenance engineer with experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment? Want to work in a business that is known for growth and investment in the Scottish manufacturing sector? Want to work on dayshift and work a 9 day fortnight? If so then this opportunity could be for you.....

My client is an establish and respected manufacturing business who have multiple sites across the UK and due to one of their team relocating, they have a rare opening in their busy maintenance department. You would be joining a small but well established and skilled engineering team who are looking for someone like minded and who is passionate about engineering to join them. The site has a variety of assets to be maintained and improved and someone with experience in planned and reactive maintenance in the FMCG sector would into well into the team. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Complete planned maintenance activities on equipment assets
  • Implement equipment modifications to support goal of improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE%) and product quality
  • Work with machine operators to troubleshoot and resolve unplanned machine breakdowns
  • Train operators on correct machine maintenance and operating practices when required
  • Ensure the highest health and safety standards are adhered to whilst operating and maintaining equipment
  • Build and maintain relationships with key equipment suppliers

So if you are a time served engineer with some/all of the following skills and experience then we want to hear from you: 

  • The ability to adopt a flexible and reactive approach to machine maintenance and breakdowns
  • The ability to work in both a challenging and interesting environment
  • Involvement in preventative and predictive maintenance activity
  • Pro-active involvement in improvement projects
  • To work strictly within current Health and Safety guidelines
  • A working knowledge of PLC/microprocessor controlled production equipment
  • The ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and pneumatic schematics
  • A working knowledge of computerised maintenance databases
  • PC literacy
