The Lead Business Analyst plays a crucial role in leading the evaluation of technology solutions as part of the organisation's business transformation initiatives. This position combines technical knowledge with a deep understanding of business processes and business analysis to deliver solutions that contribute to the overall success of improvement and transformation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to understand business goals and requirements.
  • Oversee the Business Analysis function, leading and mentoring a small team
  • Lead the evaluation of business solutions.
  • Lead and support on business readiness activities (training, user testing) for all BITT deliveries from small changes through to full projects
  • Evaluate current and emerging technologies and trends relating to the requirements and provide recommendations
  • Ensure alignment with IT strategies and overall business strategies, contributing to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Own and develop the Business Analysis procedures and processes
  • Liaise with IT and other technical colleagues on allocated BITT projects
  • Provide technical product ownership of assigned BITT products e.g. Low/No Code Workflow software
  • Coordinate and supervise third-party low-code workflow development and automation teams.
  • Share knowledge and coach colleagues in technological solutions to support change management and optimisation.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications as required
  • Provide support within development, testing, and reporting as required for transformation
  • Perform analysis to produce detailed process models and work closely with the Business Analysts and Business Process Manager to identify areas of potential improvement

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business Analysis or a related discipline
  • Certified Business Analyst (BCS, IIBA etc) is strongly preferred

Job-Related Experience

  • Significant experience of technical business analysis, ideally related to business transformation
  • Demonstrated experience as a technical BA through full project and business case lifecycles
  • Successful track record of supporting the implementation of main business applications
  • Agile experience and software/solution delivery lifecycle experience
  • Experience of improvement related to ERP, CRM, Workflow and other third-party software.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis/Business Intelligence tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to manage and lead a small team
  • Experience with functional design, including wireframes and activity diagrams
