Job Brief:
As our Financial Controller, you will be a crucial member of the Finance Team with the CFO, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes. Your primary responsibility will be to manage the company’s financial reporting and accounting operations. You will oversee the preparation of financial statements, prepare monthly management accounts, and conduct financial analysis to support the company’s growth and decision-making.
You are:
- A qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- 3+ years post-qualified
- Possess a proven track record as a Financial Controller or similar role
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent at communication
- Proficient in financial and accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Skilled in analysing financial data and producing easily understandable reports for senior management
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team
- Adept at problem-solving and critical thinking
You may:
- Have previous experience in a growing SME environment, especially within the gaming or tech industry
- Have experience using advanced financial systems and tools, e.g. for forecasting
- Be knowledgeable about international financial reporting standards and international tax
You will (not an exhaustive list):
- Manage and oversee the group's financial operations, including accounting, reporting, and forecasting (three companies)
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Prepare monthly management accounts
- Generate monthly client invoices and follow up on payment
- Possess a working knowledge of VAT and do quarterly VAT returns
- Supervise monthly payroll process
- Review and supervise payments to creditors
- Manage the corporate credit card scheme
- Maintain the group statutory books
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency
- Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Work closely with the CFO to develop and implement financial strategies and goals
- Contribute to the overall financial health and growth of the company
