Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are supporting in the recruitment for this crucial role within a leading manufacturing facility based in Dumbarton.

Our global manufacturing client are looking for an EHS Officer to join their team on a permanent basis. As an EHS Officer you will ensure legal compliance for the business, develop improvements supporting local, Corporate, and national initiatives, ensuring consistent application and compliance with Company Policy, Procedure, and standards. Maintain a process of continual improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with EHS legislation and procedures through system management and audits.
  •  Conduct Risk Assessments and audits to ensure safe operation and compliance of all plant and equipment.
  • Develop EHS business and action plans based on performance data and industry developments.
  • Lead environmental initiatives including Zero Waste to Landfill and Net Zero.
  • Manage the Industrial Hygiene monitoring program.
  • Provide support for effective training and communication to employees.
  • Lead audit process and MACAM activities ensuring zero major non-conformances.
  • Drive a culture of EHS continual improvement.
  • Contribute to Corporate EHS plans enabling strategy development.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with Safety processes and procedures, including SSOW, Control of Contractors, and Permit to Work systems.
  • Ensure all near misses and incidents are recorded, investigated, and suitable actions are implemented.
  • Support behavioural safety initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance to maintain and improve Safety within Production and Staff areas.
  • Maintain budgetary control.
  • Provide administrative support as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate essential.
  • AIEMA preferable (if you don't have this, the client will put you through this)
  • Training experience preferable.
  • Experience in a Manufacturing preferred but would consider candidates out with manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the OpEx Manager in all aspects of EHS delivery to meet business needs.
  • Maintain robust EHS systems for the Dumbarton manufacturing facility, ensuring legal compliance and fulfillment of industrial hygiene programs.
  • Develop and implement continual improvement programs.
  • Maintain costs within budget.
