Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing are proud to partner with International Beverage Holdings in the search for a Distilleries Graduate Process Engineer to join their team in the Highlands & Speyside region.  

International Beverage is the global arm of ThaiBev, a leading player in the spirits industry with a strong portfolio of iconic brands, they manage five renowned distilleries across Scotland, being Balblair, Balmenach, Knockdhu, Pulteney, and Speyburn. These distilleries are known for producing prestigious single malt whiskies, packed with tradition, heritage and innovative approaches to production.

This is a unique opportunity for a passionate and driven Graduate Chemical Engineer to play their part in the continued growth and sustainability of their 5 group distilleries across the Highland and Speyside regions.  

This role will offer a graduate to learn, grow, and define their career path in whisky production. Whether your ambition is to become a Master Distiller, Process Engineer, or move into leadership, this role allows you to carve your own future to suit your interests and skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Learn the entire distilling process from grain intake to bottling.
  • Support distillery management teams in ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies (HMRC, HSE, SEPA).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects focused on sustainability, energy use, and water conservation.
  • Aid in planning maintenance activities and supporting the development of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Play a key role in tracking performance metrics and reporting on sustainability goals.
  • Develop site process documents, such as P&ID’s and mass/energy balances, to ensure smooth operations.

Your experience:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Process Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for sustainability.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to collaborate across teams.
  • Flexibility to travel across multiple distillery sites in the Highlands and Speyside.
  • Enthusiasm for the whisky industry and a desire to build a long-term career.
