We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial principles, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Record daily financial transactions, including purchases, receipts, sales, and payments.
  • Reconcile and balance all accounts regularly.
  • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Prepare and send invoices to clients.
  • Reconcile bank statements with general ledger entries.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Generate and analyse financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets.
  • Provide regular financial updates to management.
  • Process payroll accurately and on time.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Track and manage company expenses.
  • Verify and process employee expense reports.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial audits.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Xero accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) is a plus.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
