Nine Twenty Engineering & Manufacturing recently caught up with Rachel Schouten, Group Head of HR – who joined in mid-2024 – to discuss Walker’s people strategy and the exciting opportunities available across the business.
Rachel, can you tell us a bit about you and your background and what attracted you to the opportunity at Walker?
I’m passionate about developing people, change management, and driving performance. With a background in HR leadership and Project Management, I’ve helped build cultures that empower employees while supporting business growth. Walker’s ambitious plans, focus on innovation, and people-first approach made this an exciting opportunity to help shape its future.
Can you tell us more about the culture and how you plan to build on this?
Walker has a strong foundation built on teamwork, integrity, and accountability. There’s real pride in what we do, and I want to help build on that by continuing to foster a collaborative and innovative culture – one where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to grow.
