1. Can you tell us a little about your background before you joined the team at Nine Twenty?
Originally, I came from a Fitness background but made the decision to work full time in Disclosure Scotland when my son was born. After building my experience processing criminal record applications, I began completing pre-employment checks in the Healthcare, IT and Offshore Wind industries before gaining my first recruitment position in Offshore Wind.
I then moved into Geotechnical recruitment before taking the decision try and give back to the community in Glasgow, working with a non-profit organisation to help people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic back into work. However, I couldn’t stay away from the recruitment trade and found myself applying and being accepted into the Nine Twenty family with open arms.
2. What attracted you to working with our team?
The work culture in the company seems to be one which puts a lot of trust in the employees to get the job done. Nine Twenty has given me the impression they give full autonomy to their employees and that is important to me.
3. What does your role in the business involve?
As Account Manager I will be responsible for maintaining our relationships with our clients and sourcing them the best candidates for their vacancies.
4. What is your focus over the next 3 months?
My focus is to grow my knowledge and network in the Technology industry as well as hit the ground running with a few placements.
5. You have just completed your first month, how was that and what have you been up to?
It has been fantastic. Everyone was very welcoming and informative. A lot of detail to take in but very excited to get in amongst it all.
6. Tell us more about who you are out of work?
Outside of work, I am a family man. I have 2 kids (8 year old son and 7 month old daughter). Most of my time is spent with them. If I do get free time, it is spent gaming, watching football and enjoying a rare trip to the pub for a pint (even better if there is a bit of karaoke). I also enjoy watching films, listening to rock or hip-hop music and listening to podcasts.
7. What has been your biggest success so far?
My biggest success would be: winning highest billing team 2019 with Taylor Hopkinson as a collective, breaking ground in the USA by hiring the 1st contractor for Taylor Hopkinson to be based in the USA. Although I’m proud of helping more than 50 people in the last 10 months get back into work after being unemployed long-term.
