Inver House Distillers is a wholly owned subsidiary of International Beverage Holdings Ltd, producing its Scotch whiskies and gin at five distilleries around Scotland: Pulteney, Speyburn, Knockdhu, Balblair and Balmenach. Inver House is also highly active in the maturation and blending of Scotch whisky, with warehousing for more than 600,000 casks and extensive facilities for cask filling/dumping and spirit blending and bottling at its headquarters in Airdrie. The business has won many prestigious accolades over the years, including the Icons of Whisky Distiller of the Year Award for Scotland (2017).
An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the Scotch Malt Whisky & Gin distilling activities of Inver House Distillers. Their Brands include Old Pulteney, Speyburn, AnCnoc, Balblair and Caorunn Gin and the role involves the management of five individual distillery sites across the north of Scotland.
The challenge in the role is to combine traditional production methods for an iconic Scottish product with a business strategy that is focused on growth and long-term sustainability. Challenging targets for reduction in carbon emissions must be achieved while maintaining high quality spirit and this will require energy efficiency improvement, a continued transition to renewable fuels and the use of co-products in a sustainable manner.
The successful candidate will be required to lead and motivate their skilled and experienced distillery teams, and will play an important role in the broader Leadership team contributing fully to the long term aspirations of the business.
The successful individual must have relevant technical and commercial experience and be motivated by continuous improvement. Compliance with relevant regulatory requirements will be integral to the role, including a strong focus on a safety culture.
