As part of our ongoing commitment to a diverse workforce, we’re very proud to announce that Nine Twenty is now a signatory of the Digital Technology Education Charter. As a recruitment company who specialise in Technology, we feel it is important to support the Digital Technology Education Charter in order to help inspire the next generation into Computing Science at school level and beyond.
Nine Twenty has joined the Digital Technology Education Charter as we want to work together to make change happen and raise awareness of the diverse career opportunities available to young people in the Scottish tech sector.
Nine Twenty plan to support the charter by actively supporting Computing Science in schools. We know we need to nurture talent from a young age and inspiring pupils early is key. As an innovative technology recruitment specialist, we feel it is important to participate and raise awareness of Computing Science and will drive forward the #choosecomputingscience campaign.
We are already facing a major skills shortage in the Technology sector and the impact of COVID 19, BREXIT and IR35 means the technology talent pool is decreasing further. We need to act now, by educating the younger generation of the opportunities in Technology roles and help support them to succeed in this career path.
Rachael Baxter, Head of Delivery at Nine Twenty Technology said: “It’s important to encourage the next generation into Computing Science, showcase the array of opportunities in the Technology sector and raise awareness of the diverse career opportunities available to young people.”
