Where did it all begin?
I started my recruitment career back in October 2008 as a Resourcer for global financial services roles.
I began to grow my career in technology and investment and over a 7 year period I moved up from a Consultant to a Regional Manager where I managed a portfolio of clients.
Six months ago I joined Nine Twenty as an Associate Director for the Technology division in order to establish an Enterprise Technology function. I have brought with me a wealth of knowledge in the Technology sector and am hoping to grow this area of the business even further!
What industries do you recruit for and what type of candidates are you looking for?
Generally, the industries I have previously and currently recruited for have been global financial services, commerce and industry, SME and digital.
Because I have been working within technology recruitment for a number of years now, I am confident that I have a solid understanding of a variety of job specs from graduate level all the way up to board level hires. Even to this day I continue to recruit for a range of role levels which I think gives me a great understanding of this industry and allows me to be flexible to new roles coming through.
When a client comes to me saying they are having trouble filling a job, I can use this experience to connect the right candidate to the role.
I suppose there is really no such thing as an ‘easy role in tech recruitment’ and especially within the current development market. We’re always looking for candidates who are familiar in frontend, backend and full stack languages as there just doesn’t seem to be enough of them around!
